Becoming In Faith

Did you know there are three stages of becoming spiritually?

The first stage is unbecoming.

The second stage is becoming.

And, the final stage is become.

I believe each stage of becoming in faith is necessary for our spiritual growth and provides a blueprint for those who cross our path.

“We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.” Ephesians 2:21

For example, take a moment to think about your spiritual journey.

How was your relationship with Christ when you first decided to choose Him?

Now, how is your relationship with Christ at this very moment?

I’m sure when you look back throughout your time with Christ you notice how your faith is stronger!

You have released certain habits and mindsets.

And, you acknowledge there is so much you still do not know, therefore you realize you still need Christ!

Okay, maybe this is not your journey.

However, I can admit it is certainly mine!

When I first chose Christ, I may have been about thirteen or fourteen years old.

I made the decision to be baptized, but my decision to choose Christ didn’t stop life from kickin my butt 😳

I secretly struggled with homosexuality, masturbation, and sex and pornography addictions.

During that time of struggle, I never stopped acknowledging God, but it wasn’t until I fully surrendered my life to Christ when I started unbecoming and transitioned to becoming.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Becoming in Christ brings a change in you.

In 2017, I made the decision to give my heart to God and began trusting His path for my life.

Though I have chosen a life of surrender to God, released my way of living and have chosen his way, I acknowledge I still need His help to become who He desires for me to be.

This brings us to the final stage of becoming: become.

After looking back at who you were, where you are now, how would you like for your relationship with Christ to become?

What are the things you still need to release?

Who are the people you feel could be blessed by your journey of choosing to follow Christ?

Honey Bunches, if I can be honest with you, I believe as Christians we are always becoming!

We never really ‘arrive’ here on earth though we certainly desire so.

“And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.” Romans 8:23

I pray that today’s post will help you identify what stage of becoming you’re in, empower you to keep going strong in faith, and move forward in Christ to share your story to empower!
