How do you respond when you feel stuck?
You know, when you are not sure of the next step or steps you need to take in order to help you move past where you are to arrive at a place that is better.
What are your thoughts while you feel stuck?
Do you go back to what helped you to get to where you have arrived?
Or, do you try to see if something can be done to help you get unstuck?
For me, I believe I have done a little bit of both in life.
However, if I can be honest, there is one particular area where I have felt stuck and today I am making the decision to do something new.
You see God is always doing a new thing in our lives.
I believe if we are not careful to observe His works we can miss the opportunity for Him to help us move past the place of feeling stuck.
“But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19
In these particular verses, the things that need to be forgotten are referring to God’s former warning to His chosen people, the nation of Israel.
The warning was to cause them to be captured by their enemies and exiled for many years from their home land.
However, the new thing describes God’s new plan to include them to be a part of a more hopeful and promising future.
If you are reading this post today, I believe it is no coincidence whatsoever.
God wants to help you, too, to become unstuck to a more promising future.
And, I’m sure you are thinking,
“Okay, how can I get unstuck?”
To become unstuck you must push past your past.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit in me.” Psalms 51:10
In order to get unstuck, the first place to start is going to the Creator of all, God, and let Him know your desire to be unstuck.
• Ask Him to give you the heart and mindset to accept the new thing He will like for you to do.
The next step to take is to actually apply what God shares with you by getting rid of things that are preventing you from moving forward!
“So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and of the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end.” Hebrews 12:1b-2a (GNTD)
What thought patterns do you need to improve?
What language are you speaking about yourself and situation?
• Make the decision to not simply pray to be unstuck. Make the decision to get rid of bad habits, patterns, stinking thinking, so you may move forward from that stuck place.
If this means start going to a counselor, do it!
If this means start opening up to your church leader, do it!
If this means letting a negative people go, do it!
To become unstuck relies on your heart and mindset to make the move.
Honey Bunches, if you would like to be unstuck, I want to agree with you in faith.
