There comes a point in every believer’s life where I believe we feel that God is silent.
Sometimes we feel as if God is quieter than previous seasons.
Perhaps you are someone currently who is experiencing the feeling of God being silent.
Like you, there have been moments where I, too, experienced the feeling!
However, when I now begin to have that feeling, there are a few questions I ask myself that help me to hear him loud and clearly again.
This is why today I am going to share with you 3 Questions you should ask yourself if you are not hearing clearly from God.
First things first..I want to ask you did you notice I called what you are feeling, a feeling?
Well, it is simple: I truly believe that God is never silent!
I believe sometimes there are moments where we, His children, are perhaps too busy or too discouraged; therefore, we are not able to hear from God.
You see the Bible shares that God speaks in a small voice. (Check out when the Lord appears to Elijah 1 Kings 19…specifically verse 12😉)
For example, have you noticed in previous seasons when you were able to hear more from God you were spiritually positioned to hear from Him?
Think about what you were doing in that certain season!
You may have been more active in a faith based community such as a church.
Or you were intentionally engaged more in worship…such as getting up bright and early to pray!
I notice any time I have ever felt as if God is silent it is due to me not making myself available to hear from Him.
I may become too involved in distractions rather than spending time in His presence!
When I begin to have that feeling of his absence, I ask myself these simple questions:
When is the last time I heard from God?
What was I doing during the time I heard from Him?
And finally…
Am I currently in the same position to hear him?
Honey Bunches, I really believe God is always working behind the scenes on our behalf!
“Truly, O God of Israel, our Savior, you work in mysterious ways.” Isaiah 45:15 NLT
God is also omnipresent…He’s everywhere at the same time. (Psalms 139:8-10)
Therefore, if you are having the feeling of Him being absent, ask yourself, “Am I making myself present?”
