Our ministry enjoys highlighting empowering women who are kingdom enhancers in their respected businesses, careers or ministries.
For this month's Empowering Woman, we would like to present to you, Dafani Norman.
Dafani, what is the name or title of your business, career, or ministry?
D.A Norman Ministries and my non-profit is iR.O.C.C
What services do you offer? What is the mission for your business or ministry?
D.A Norman Ministries, is open for Ministering the word of God through preaching, song , motivational speaking etc. iR.O.O.C.C provides resources and materials to assist with specific needs . Including but not limited to clothes, shoes, personal hygiene products, physical fitness, food and a variety of Therapy options. My mission is To empower, encourage, motivate and assist with the improving of the physical, mental and emotional health and wellness of individuals in need.
That's amazing! What makes you choose to honor God in your respected career path?
My love for God and my appreciation for all that He has done for and through me. It is my understanding and security in knowing that I am nothing without Him. Because I owe Him my life, I will honor Him in everything I do.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a Singing Psychologist. LOL!! I believed I would sing salvation over the world all while helping people with their lives.
What has the journey looked like for you as a woman in faith?
My journey as a woman of faith has looked like rollercoaster. I've faced some of the most difficult things that I had no idea if I would over come. From coming out of a life surrounded by drugs and alcohol, not loving my self, depression, low self esteem, abuse, a bad marriage and a bitter divorce, to a now life of deliverance, freedom and a peace that is beyond my ability to explain.
Who is one person that inspires you and why?
One of the greatest, inspirations passed away but if I had to choose a current one it would be my sister Felisa. She has always been the greatest example of going after whatever your heart desires even against the odds. She is always planning and pursing and even if she gets tired she doesn't give up.
When life gets hard, what is one scripture that helps you to not give up and why?
Romans 8:18 This scripture reminds me that what is coming after I make it through this difficult place is so much greater that the pain of what I faced. It proves that God is going to reward me for my holding on through every attack.
What is one thing you have learned in your business, career, or ministry that was tough while learning that is now valuable to you?
When you step out and start the business/ministry don't panic but plan, trust God and focus on one thing at a time.
Dafani, may you share one spiritual discipline you practice and how does this practice benefit you?
I have trained myself not to worry about the things that I can't control. It causes me to put my total trust in God and keeps me from stressing, being fearful and remain in a place of peace.
Can you recall a time where God spoke to you clearly? How was that experience for you?
I remember when God told me to write my book. It was one of the most difficult things that God had instructed me to do. I remember crying because I was afraid and I knew that it would force me to have to revisit some areas of my life that I just didn't want to relive. God then told me that I had to because of all of the people who needed to hear what I had to say.
Lastly, our ministry exists to help women grow stronger through faith and transparency. What is one thing you would like to share with another woman to 'Keep The Faith"?
I can tell you as a living example that It doesn't matter how bad or challenging you believe your life is, neither does it matter how broken you may feel. You are not so damaged, that you can't be helped, healed or made whole. There is nothing too hard for God. Whatever you do, don't quit. Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof. God sees you and He will bring your through.
